Live Traps
We don’t sell killing traps for rabbits. Such rabbit traps are fine in professional hands; but most of our rabbit trap customers are not professionals, and it’s hard for us to estimate the risk involved to pets, children, and even unwary adults. What’s more, live rabbit traps perform well and can do essentially the same task safely. Besides catching rabbits, the traps listed below are well-suited to trapping skunks and squirrels. For traps suited to catching a wide range of critters (cats, chipmunks, ground hogs, opossums, rats, raccoons, and other interlopers), visit our garden pest control web site and catalog store at www.garden-pest-control.biz. The Havahart traps offered here and on our other web sites have a top-of-the-line reputation with good reason. All models come fully assembled and are easy to bait, set, and release. Their doors have sensitive triggers to make quick, secure catches; the steel-reinforced high-tensile wire mesh construction is designed for a long life and maximum resistance to damage; and the smooth inside edges protect trapped animals. In addition, T-19 has a spring-loaded door, while T-20 is open at both ends when set, which increases the willingness of target animals to enter. To catch rabbits, one or more of the traps below (either product T-19 or T-20) should be baited with fresh vegetables such as brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, or lettuce (spraying the inside of the rabbit trap with apple cider also works) and should be placed in areas frequented by the rabbits you wish to capture or along paths commonly used by them. |
